Behavior
Good manners, a sense of responsibility and tidiness are expected of children at
all times. Violent, bullying, threatening or dishonest behavior is not permitted nor
is the possession of fireworks, dangerous weapons, cigarattes, alcohol, illegal
drugs or pornographic material.
Games
Mobile phones, electronic games, walkmans, i-pods, i-phones, mp3 players, etc
are strictly prohibited in school.
Hygiene
Children should take pride in their personal appearance and ensure that their
clothes are neat and clean.
House Duties
Children will be given a reasonable amount of house duties, where they learn
responsibility for their surroundings eg. Making their beds, tiding their boxes ,
rooms and sweeping their rooms taking care of their living environment.
Exit Permits
Children may only leave the school premises under express permission of the
boarding house parent. They will have an exit permit. Parents will put in writing ,
if they want to pick up their children.
Sanctions
Various Sanctions are meted out to children who break the school rules. The most
common punishments are as follows.
Suspension
The child may be asked to leave the school for a short period. This is not a holiday
and may disrupt the child’s academic work and is used for a very serious breach of
school rules such as consistent bullying, fighting, insulting, stealing or
unauthorized exits.
Expulsion
In extreme cases such as the possession of illegal drugs or sexual relationships, a
child may be asked to leave the school altogether. There is no refund of school
fees.
Chapel
To the very centre of all the activities of the Holy Kids Public School stand each
sunday worship, attendance at which is compulsory for all boarders for the
purpose of the school above everthing else is the worship and service of God
carried over from the chapel into all walks of life.
In our worship, we bring and give to God all that goes to make up our life as
individuals: our work, our friendship, our interests, our ideals and achievements
everything that we can think of. In addition to the sunday hour of worship, each
day is opened and closed with a brief act of worship. The singing of hymn or
chorus, the reading of scriptures and offering the self of God in corporate prayer.
Thus we aim at the building up from the earliest years of the habit of worship, a
factor which count for much in child’s growth and development.
HEALTH
The school doctor/nurse is the sole authority in matter pertaining to health,
quarantine regulations and medical treatment to be given to all boarders in care of the
school. Parents are not permitted to bring medicines directly to boarders.
Hair Care
A barber will be provided monthly for the boys. The children will pay for this service.
Parent can pay monthly or termly for this service.
Laundry Service
The school provides a laundry service for school uniform /house wear / bedsheets/
pillow covers. All items must be engraved with the children’s names. Children will wash
all other items themselves.
Fees
Fees are paid in advance at the beginning of the term. There will no refund of fees if any
student is withdrawn from the school mid –term.
Miscellaneous
The hostel building is out of bounds during school hours. If for some reason a boarder
is required to go to the boarding house he / she has to have a permission from the
concerned authorities.
Any letter/ parcel that is being delivered to any student will be checked by hostel
authorities first and only after that it will be handed to the student.
Phone calls to your child is allowed during the weekend between 8pm – 9 pm.
You can visit your child on second Saturday of each month. Visiting Time : 11:30 am to
4:00 pm
Pocket Money
This should not be more than INR 800 to INR 1000 a month. This money will be
deposited with the school cash counter and disbursed through the hostel in charge.
Recreation
Activities are on Saturday. Boys and girls will have some separate activities like
watching movies, playing games etc.
Undertaking
An undertaking of commitment and compliance will be signed by both parents and
students to be admitted in the hostel.
INFECTIOUS DISEASES
A pupil must not be sent to school, nor returned to school after a vacation if he or
she has suffered during the previous six weeks from an infectious diseases or has been
in contact with such a patient, unless medically certified as free of infection.
